Okay, that helped. This is a minimal _TeX_ document that gives the
error, when converted with "dvips -t a4 -t landscape":

| Juhapekka  Tolvanen

And this is an example where it works:

The problem for me now is that I don't know whether
"papersize=297mm,210mm" is a valid entry for a dvi file. Is this
supposed to be PostScript?
