No need to yell here.

If you'd given the smallest hint that this was the case, we would have
been more specific much earlier.

Well, let's forget about that, here's what we'd like to know:

- just to clear things up: The packages you used these times were from
  unstable, they were compiled by a buildd, not by you? Do you have a
  backup of /var/cache/apt/archives?

- Please send us the contents /usr/share/texmf/ls-R if it is small, or
  head and tail if it is big, as well as permission modes of that file

- Do the files /etc/texmf/{fmtutil.cnf,texmf.cnf}  exist?
