Bug#243672: tetex-bin: Package doesn't install (file /etc/texmf/texmf.cnf doesn't exist)

The command
"apt-get install tetex-bin"
produces the following error:

`/etc/texmf/texmf.cnf': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing tetex-bin (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

The contents of the directory "/etc/texmf" is
dvipdfm etex mktex.cnf pdftex texmf.d
dvips fmt.d modes.mf platex updmap.d
The only other tetex related Package I installed manually beforehand, is
"tetex-base".
