Hi Tobias,
do you remember http://bugs.debian.org/197259? The change to the manpage
is no longer necessary, because in the next release (tetex-3.0,
currently in beta state) pdftex will behave just as latex does, and as
it did in 1.0. (However you will have to use --efmt instead of fmt,
because an other change is that pdfetex is always used, also for latex).
Therefore I'm tagging "fixed-upstream", and we'll close the bug when
tetex-3.0 enters Debian.
