Thanks you for reporting this. But no, this is not our fault, this is
the file from the original teTeX 2.0 distribution - it is really an
upstream bug. I have yet to check whether only the number is wrong, or
whether the whole section is outdated. Once I know this we will fix it.

And why do you do this? If the Debian package wouldn't set this correct
by itself, this would be a bug. You messed it up, no wonder that it
doesn't work.

This is how it should look like. Just remove the setting from your
.profile, and you're done.

But please tell us why you thought that this would be necessary. Maybe
others have this misconception, too, and we should document this at a
prominent place.
