hi
I am trying to upgrade a woody box to sarge;=20
in woody I had installed TeTeX and txfonts and pxfonts.
When I tried to upgrade, I got this behaviour:
I issued
# apt-get install tetex-bin
and tetex-base warned me as follows:
tetex-base has found /etc/texmf/dvips/updmap from a previous version of
tetex-base. You seem to have modified this script.
This script is no longer included in tetex-base and should not be used.
It will be renamed to updmap.postinst-old.
Changes previously made to this script should now be made to files in
/etc/texmf/updmap.d/, see the manpage for update-updmap.
But then I got this error
Removing pxfonts ...
chmod: failed to get attributes of `/etc/texmf/dvips/updmap':
No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing pxfonts (--remove):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: txfonts: dependency problems, but removing anyway as you request:
pxfonts depends on txfonts.
Removing txfonts ...
A solution may be if tetex-base would leave updmap around, maybe empty,
or leave a symlink
