This was not very helpful. I need the combination of 

#!/bin/sh -ex (with the x)

and

UCF="ucf --verbose -d --debconf-ok"

in setuc-ucf. Only one of them does not help.

Besides, this bug seems to be really strange. Are you sure that your
disk is not nearly full, or you have other hardware problems?
