I fear it is not the reason because the lm fonts have names such as
lmr10, lmbx12, lmss9, etc. After all, they are not exactly Computer
Modern. And the problem that was fixed in 0.92-3 couldn't break the use
of other fonts, AFAICS (the map files under /var are left intact by
postinst with lmodern << 0.92-3).
