Bug#263339: News.Debian not installed
Package: tetex-bin
Version: 2.0.2-17
Severity: minor
>From latest changelog:
* We now use e-TeX (and pdfe-TeX) as our basic engines for (pdf)LaTeX.
See REAMDE.Debian for details. Many thanks to Hilmar for this.

Aside of that REAMDE: In README.Debian itself we don't say anything
about that e-TeX migration. The file where we mention it
(NEWS.Debian) is not installed in the package. README.Developers
should perhaps installed too. Patch for that file attached.
H.

- We should remove symlinks from orig.tar.gz because cvs-upgrade disliked
-symlinks so run "restore-symlinks -rm" in original source tree.
-After that please check if there remains no symlink any more with
-"find . -type l -print". At present, pdftex.map and psfonts.map are
-treated in a special way.

-- We should preserve empty directories by creating a file .need_me in those

-Try to run "find . -type d -empty -print" and then
-"find . -type d -empty -exec touch {}/.need_me \;" and finally check again

+- Empty directories in the texmf-tree are needles. We have to remove
+ them when creating the .orig.tar.gz.
- We should remove CVS directories. Try to run
-"find . -name CVS -prune -exec rm -rf {} \;"

-- We should update debian/shlibs.local perhaps when libkpathsea is updated.
+- We should update the dh_makeshlibs call in debian/rules when libkpathsea
+ is updated.
- We maintain our teTeX packages with CVS and anyone can check out the
latest CVS tree with the following command
