Package: tetex-bin
Version: 2.0.2-11
Severity: normal

I got the following error while upgrading my tetex-bin package:

   Setting up tetex-bin (2.0.2-11) ...
mktemp: cannot create temp file texmfXBt9pOg: Permission denied
   dpkg: error processing tetex-bin (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
   Errors were encountered while processing:
    tetex-bin
   Press return to continue.

I suspect that the problem is that it's trying to create a temp file in
the current directory (instead of using /tmp or something); as my
homedir is in NFS, and I invoked aptitude via `sudo aptitude', the CWD
wasn't writable by root. cding to /tmp before starting aptitude causes
installation to succeed.

Presumably the proper thing to do is use /tmp or /var/tmp for temporary
files.

Thanks,

-Miles
