Bug#243384: tetex-bin: xdvi does not display colour text

the following produces a DVI and associated PS file
which contains a line written in red.

latex xdvi-colour-test.tex
dvips xdvi-colour-test.dvi

however, xdvi displays all the text in the foreground
colour; instead of the
correct colour asked of in the .tex file.

the PS file displays fine in any of the GS based
viewers
