Bug#211899: tetex-base: xdvi passes wrong filename from /href and causes segmentation faul on exit
Package: tetex-base
Version: 2.0.2-4.2
Severity: important
In tex I create a special to use xdvi to show movies:
\special{html:<a href=animation.mpg>}movie\special{html:</a>}
It will call the application indicated in /etc/mailcap (xine in my case) but
with the wrong argument. Instead of calling it with animation.mpg it
will call
it with something like: /tmp/xdvi-IYEGTK
This file in /tmp will be an empty file. For each new animation I want
to show
it creates a new (empty) file. When I press q in xdvi it will fail to
exit and
when I close the window many lines of text of the form
xdvik: caught segmentation fault - trying to clean up and aborting ...
I should also mention that I only had this problem after had to re-install
debian on my computer after a hard-disk failure. A previous version
(from about
November 2002) did not show this problem.
