In Debian system, whiptail has standard priority and dialog has optional.
So I prefer whiptail to dialog.

Please apply attached patch, and add whiptail to Recommends:.

I believe this bug has been fixed in KDE 3.1 upload to Debian if you can
still reproduce the bug then please reopen it.
