I took tetex from unstable Debian and I got some error messages during
installation. I thought, they were caused by /bin/sh , that was symbolic
link to to /bin/dash . I can still run latex and I get desired results
with it.
I made that /bin/sh link to point to /bin/bash . Then I run this command:
dpkg-reconfigure tetex-bin tetex-extra tetex-base
I still got those error messages. Here are relevant messages I got.

You're exporting ZSH_VERSION in .zshrc and .zshenv. You shouldn't
be. (You should only export variables if they will be needed by
scripts you run in bash and sh as well as in your home shell,
otherwise you need only set them.)
