Yes, I had been taught this once before from you or someone
else in French translation team.

But I'm afraid now that translation of Choices itself
might be a problem because we use $RET value in postinst
like;

      db_get tetex-bin/hyphen || true
      lang="$RET"
      for l in $lang; do
	case $l in
	french\[=patois\]) sed -e "s/%! french/french/" $LDAT | sed -e "s/%! =patois/=patois/" > $LDAT_$$; mv $LDAT_$$ $LDAT ;;

if "french" is translated to "francais" (I don't know the way
to write French letters ;), did the above shell script work?
that is $RET = french even if templates were translated as
"francais"?

I feel

Default: french[=patois], german[=austrian-alte_Rechtschreibung], ngerman[=naustrian-neue_Rechtschreibung]

and no translation is better than "_Defaultchoice:"

Frank, do you think this is the best (in short)?
