Bug#195662: "./pl.l:462: `yytext_ptr' undeclared" when building on GNU/FreeBSD

Package: tetex-bin
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-06-01
Severity: wishlist

hi!

I'm getting this error when building tetex-bin on GNU/FreeBSD:

flex ./pl.l
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../.. -I.. -I./.. -g -O2 -c lex.yy.c
./pl.l: In function `scan_string':
./pl.l:462: `yytext_ptr' undeclared (first use in this function)
./pl.l:462: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
./pl.l:462: for each function it appears in.)
make[4]: *** [lex.yy.o] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/rmh/tmp/xfree86/tetex-bin/tetex-bin-2.0.2/texk/web2c/omegafonts'

unfortunately, i'm flex-illiterate and have not much idea on how to trace this
error. i looked at pl.l and "yytext_ptr" is not on the 462 line, so i guess
some kind of weird #define stuff is being used, but i got lost on this, and
again i don't have a clue on what flex is suposed to do here.

any ideas?
