Package: tetex-extra
Version: 1.0-10
Severity: normal

The following lines gives "ERROR: LaTeX Error: Something's wrong--perhaps a
missing \item.":

\begin{algorithmic}
  \COMMENT{line with error}
\end{algorithmic}

The doc algorithms.dvi.gz (section 2.9) says only that comments are not
allowed at the end of the first line of constructs (if, while etc.)

Workaround: put in the beginning of the line an empty \STATE:
  \STATE \COMMENT{...}
