Package: tetex-bin
Version: 1.0.7+20021025-4
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,
Sorry if someone else reported this. After last upgrade from unstable
(yesterday) the tetex distribution became broken. Since then I have not
seen any reports about the problem, some bug reported in april 2002
appears to be similar. (Re: Bug#141086: tetex-bin: Puts files in
/usr/local follow thread backwards)

http://lists.debian.org/debian-tetex-maint/2002/debian-tetex-maint-200204/msg00109.html

Any attempt to run latex etc. results in fatal messages like:

This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.9)
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)

dpkg-reconfigure tetex-bin fails (see output at end of report)

The same thing happened on two machines with slightly different config.

I will have a closer look at it tomorrow.

Best wishes

Urban
