Bug#100505: algorithmic environment does not allow a line with only a comment
I just wanted to note here that algorithmic.sty and algorithm.sty
probably won't be in the next release of teTeX, unless Peter
Williams suddenly makes an appearance and relicenses them with a
DFSG-free license. (At the moment, these packages cannot even be
included in a non-free tetex-nonfree package, because there is
*no* permission granted for distribution.)
I'm out of ideas on contacting Peter -- I've tried every address I
could find for him on the web and Usenet, as well as contacting
someone at the University of Sydney (where he was a grad student)
with no results. If I were in Australia, I would try telephoning
some of these places, but that's not practical from Southern
California.
If anyone else wants to try, however, please do!
