See my last email. When the production of the memory format fails
during the installation of JadeTeX, there is a error message on
screen, and that points you to a temporary log file also available in
/tmp. We would need that info.
It might be possible to take a look at the file
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/jadetex.log instead.
