Bug#113066: xdvi should have a 12.5% button to revert to "normal" zoom.

Package: tetex-base
Version: 1.0.2+20000804-9
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Hello, by default xdvi has a 'bug' (on all computers in the world or so):
If you use the buttons to change the shrink factor you cannot revert to
the standard shrink factor (12.5% by default), unless you know the 'magic'
keystroke "8s", but in this case you don't need buttons at all...

It is easily solved by adding

XDvi*shrinkButton4: 8

in /etc/X11/app-defaults/XDvi

(also on most machine,

XDvi*shrinkButton1: 3
XDvi*shrinkButton2: 4
XDvi*shrinkButton3: 8
XDvi*shrinkButton4: 10

are more useful default, unless you have a 1600x1200 screen, in this case
XDvi*shrinkFactor: 8 might look too small.)

If you do not want to change it, please let the bug open so that people can
find the solution here. (I am fed up to be taken for a TeX wizard just because
I can make xdvi to work properly)

Thanks for your attention,
Best regards,

Bill. <ballombe@debian.org>
