Big book troubles.

Hello.
I have a big trouble with TeX about "save size". I noticed that
with the configuration I cannot go over 40000.

    ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [save size=40000].

Practically, I have more than 40000 labels.

That's a big problem. I hope that there is a way to increase this
value inside the source, but I don't know how.

Actually I write a big book about free software in italian
(http://a2.swlibero.org/) and it is meant to be all in one block.
Dividing this book into smaller peaces, is what I really want to avoid.

I am asking you (almost praying) if there is a way to resolve the
problem. It is very important for me and for the project I have.
