Package: tetex-extra
Version: 1.0-10
Severity: normal
File: /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/misc/changebar.sty

Hello,

changebar.sty works OK for odd pages (maybe), but for even pages the
changebar appears over the top of the text (right hand side).
It needs to be moved over to the right a bit more (approx
1 inch).

I tried the "oneside" option, but that didn't help (besides, I want
double sided to work....)

My file was generated with chbar.sh, but I have simplified the
header as much as possible, the basic structure of the document is now:

\documentclass[oneside] {article}
\usepackage[dvips]{changebar}

\begin{document}
...
\cbstart{}%
...
\cbend{}%
...
\end{document}

I can send my sample documents on request.

LATER: With some documents, I get the following error, from gs, when
viewing the file with xdvi:

gs: Error: /undefined in CBarX22
gs: Operand stack:
gs:
gs: Execution stack:
gs: %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--

This might be the same bug I reported before, with seminar.sty.
(I didn't use seminar.sty here though).

When viewing the postscript file, rather then the dvi file,
everything seems much more reliable except I still get the above error.

Also, some change bars appear on the wrong side of the page. ie I have
an odd page on display. Along the main text, the changebar appears on
the left hand side, but at the bottom (the footnote), the changebar
appears on the right hand side.

Not too mention odd shapes (eg a triangle shape on another page) which
occur on over pages.

I think I am getting changebars, when nothing should appear, too.

In short, I think changebar.sty is very broken.
