Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
At first glance this sounds like a problem in the installer. Perhaps
file a bug against the "debian-installer" package or contact
debian-boot@lists.debian.org might provide more help.
Unfortunately, I do not offhand know what information the installer
people would need to help you further.
