Bug#707301: release-notes: odbcinst1debian2 : Breaks: tdsodbc (< 0.82-8) but 0.82-7 is to be installed

Unfortunately had to remove the packge and finish the upgrade.

sources.list had wheezy....
did apt-get update/upgrade..apt-get clean many times...

apt-cache policy tdsodbc  (now after upgrade)

tdsodbc:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 0.91-2
  Version table:
     0.91-2 0
        500 http://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ wheezy/main amd64 Packages
     0.82-7 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

apt-get install tdsodbc seemed to install just fine after the system got upgraded.

The following NEW packages will be installed:
  odbcinst odbcinst1debian2 tdsodbc

We only use tdsodbc to connect to mssql servers. We don't use any other services mentioned by other people here..

Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y
Get:1 http://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ wheezy/main odbcinst amd64 2.2.14p2-5 [40.6 kB]
Get:2 http://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ wheezy/main odbcinst1debian2 amd64 2.2.14p2-5 [80.5 kB]
Get:3 http://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ wheezy/main tdsodbc amd64 0.91-2 [226 kB]

What should the next person that has this problem provide?
apt-cache policy tdsodbc
apt-cache policy odbcinst1debian2
apt-cache policy odbcinst

Thanks
Lucas

That shouldn't happen, 0.82-7 is the squeeze (oldstable) version.
What's the output of "apt-cache policy tdsodbc" at that point?

Did you put the tdsodbc package on hold?

Cheers,
Julien
