blurry idesk icons in wheezy fluxbox

I noticed a problem in the wheezy fluxbox if you use idesk icons (48x48
px ,png)
If you start fluxbox + idesk the icons seem sharp and fine, you can drag
them along and they are still fine. But once you cover them with an
x-window and they resurface afterwards, they become blurry with black
shades. Dragging them along now produces lots a rendering bugs with the
desktop background. A simple "killall idesk" will restore all graphics.
It's a wheezy beta-2 netinstall. I'm using the xorg ati driver with an
rs880 igp. Mesa dri is installed, and I checked with glxinfo it is
running. X-video playback in kaffeine shows smooth and flawless
rendering, even when I drag the video box along. That's what makes me
think there is sth wrong with the idesk package.
Can somebody try to reproduce/confirm this or share his thoughts what I
could be missing? I was able to reproduce it in Ubunutu 12.04 - they
should ship close to similar package versions.
