Bug#613280: upgrade-reports: lenny fontconfig failed to remove; prerm fails
Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: normal
In the process of upgrading from lenny to squeeze, I had fontconfig
marked for removal. However:
Removing fontconfig ...
dpkg: error processing fontconfig (--purge):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
configured to not write apport reports
Errors were encountered while processing:
fontconfig
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
I ended up having to upgrade fontconfig with the rest of the system, and remove
it afterward:
Preparing to replace fontconfig 2.6.0-3 (using .../fontconfig_2.8.0-2.1_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: warning: subprocess old pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg - trying script from the new package instead ...
dpkg: ... it looks like that went OK.
Unpacking replacement fontconfig ...
