Bug#607484: upgrade-reports: unusable on intel i810
Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system
X freezes on a regular basis on i810 graphics, with messages like this:
[drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
render error detected,
EIR: 0x00000000
[drm:i915_do_wait_request]
*ERROR* i915_do_wait_request returns -5 (awaiting 62 at 61)
this seems to be a widely known bug around the net, but the only known fix
seems to be to disable kernel mode setting(KMS) via i915.modeset=0. but the xorg
version shipped by squeeze requires KMS.
