Bug#478209: locate missing
I can verify that I also have ( etch > lenny) an upgrade with a missing locate.
My previous release is:

This was a default etch install (default checked choices) for desktop
In addition, I have another earlier upgrade (etch>lenny) which does
have the locate.

This was the default etch install (default checked choices) for
desktop plus some server selections. So, I was starting with a
larger set of packages.
Some other packages were installed after the upgrade.
