Hi, after upgrading with the graphical upgrader in gnome I as well have
broken keyboard layouts. The "keybouard layout settings" are reset (for
    example the press-win-key-for-layout-change option is no longer
    checked) and I have to either readd the layouts or reboot.
This isn't very grave but I see the last comment was in 2006 so perhaps
I'd let you know it's still not working.
