Package: upgrade-reports

I've just upgraded a fairly small (185 packages) chroot from Etch to
Lenny. There were no problems, a simple "aptitude dist-upgrade" ran
through without a hitch. I had feared breakage since the dpkg in Lenny
conflicts with the Etch versions of apt and aptitude, but the latter
packages were simply upgraded first. The upgrade uninstalled 19 unused
automatically installed packages and two manually installed obsolete
package, grep-dctrl and linux-kernel-headers. 21 packages were newly
installed.

The upgrade automatically installed locate, while mlocate is the
preferred tool in Lenny; the release notes for Lenny should probably
point at this.

It seems that the base system is in good shape and no upgrade problems
exist there currently. I have a log of the upgrade if there are any
questions, but probably you just want to close this "bug" report.

Hi,

thanks for your upgrade report. I'm closing it, as it was successful and also
because it's usefulness today aint that great anymore, as lenny has changed
quite a bit since April.

regards,
	Holger
