Recent migration of mdadm 2.4.1

Hi,

I use a server with Debian/etch with two Raid1 arrays (two SATA disks 150GB).
Everything is ok with the mdadm 1.12.0-1.
(Linux xx 2.6.15-1-686-smp #2 SMP Mon Mar 6 15:34:50 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux)

What are the steps to upgrade mdadm 1.x to 2.x ?

Is there a risk for the data ? Should I use a 'aptitude hold mdadm' ?
