Hi!
I've the same problem months ago and it was solved when i've installed
mkinitrd.yaird by apt-get.
I think that after install the image, dpkg call an mkinitrd program to
create te ramdisk (I don`t need one...), at this stage he`s not
finding or is doing something wrong and exit.
Reinstaling mkinitrd may help, but I've not tried this yet.
