If that is the problem, and if cdrecord does not warn, then someone
should open a bug.
This appears to be always invalid:
cdrecord -foo=bar
because cdrecord has options that look like -s and other options that
look like -silent and other options that look like foo=bar, but no
options (that I can see) that look like -foo=bar.
