08/01/2004 floppies: 3c59x doesn't work
I'm trying to install Debian Sarge with the floppies from 1st August 2004 on a
Pentium 2GHz (boot, root, net-drivers).
The problem is that I can't get to the internet.
The computer is in a local network and has a static IP-adress, gateway and
DNS-server. It works under Windows XP.
Here are some lines from /var/log/syslog:
netcfg[2846]: INFO: Executing: mii-diag -s eth0
netcfg[2846]: sh: mii-diag not found
netcfg[2846]: INFO: link status for eth0 is: unknown (127)

So where is the problem and what does it cause?
