gv in testing broken?

is everything gv answers upon being requested to open a PS document. Size &
shape & any other detail of the PS is of no importance, ist fails at
LaTeX-created ones just as it fails to display any others. 

Is that a known bug, and is there any remedy for that issue? Or do I do
something wrong?
