Actually, it's not just a rename. It's an entirely new driver. The old
driver was written by Donald Becker, the man behind half the 2.2 networking
drivers. It had some issues, and didn't compile with 2.4 (it does now, or so
I've been told). The new driver is by Jeff Garzik, but it still isn't
perfect. If you have problems with the 8139too driver you might get Donald
Becker's one at scyld.com
