And on a probably related note, I just got this on apt-get -s
dist-upgrade:

The following packages will be REMOVED:
  j2re1.3 language-env locales xnap
The following packages will be upgraded
  libc6 libc6-dev mpack
3 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 4 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Remv xnap (2.2-pre1-1 Debian:unstable)
Remv j2re1.3 (1.3.1-1 Blackdown Java-Linux:1.3/woody)
Remv language-env (0.38 Debian:testing)
Remv locales (2.2.5-9.woody.4 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)
Inst libc6-dev (2.2.5-9.woody.4 Debian-Security:3.0/testing) []
Inst libc6 (2.2.5-9.woody.4 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)
Conf libc6 (2.2.5-9.woody.4 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)
Inst mpack (1.5-7woody1 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)
Conf libc6-dev (2.2.5-9.woody.4 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)
Conf mpack (1.5-7woody1 Debian-Security:3.0/testing)

xnap can go, but I am reluctant to do a security upgrade when it means I
lose locales :(

Thanks for info, M.
