I had the same problem with my install last week, but as I thought it
was a *FILE* problem I just changed the apt-sources list. (Edit sources by
hand, instead of using the default (US) mirrors).
I used ftp.de.debian.org I think, and the problem didn't reoccur & I
got no problems of any kind.
