Re: turn off gnome

Becuase a program is not to your taste/needs,
it seems just a little rude to rubbish a
persons/groups work.

You don't say how you are loading X,
if your doing startx look in ~/.xinit

it sounds like your loading gnome,
with fvwm2 as the window manager

Hello,

please excuse me for being dense, or backwards, but I do not wish to have the
gnome taskbar on my fvwm2 desktop. I've recently gotten rid of the supremely annoying behavior it was displaying
by 'remembering' my 'session' and popping up endless windows at each reboot,
by deleting the .gnome directory before doing so manually.

I don't want this memory-hog shite. How do I turn it off ?

Please help.

Tom
