apparently not, i proposed a couple completly viable and trivially
implemented solutions to this, but the bug is old and ignored.

no lilo is intentionally redirecting its output to /dev/tty.

the solution is a) don't even echo that crap at all, put it in
README.Debian where it belongs, or b) check for $Noninterative and
don't echo anything if its set.

its a problem in the lilo package, not boot-floppies, so we are at the
mercy of the maintainer who doesn't seem to care about this.
