I'm afraid this isn't enough information to go on.  Please give more
information about your setup including the version numbers of the packages
imap depends on.

Have you altered your PAM setup in any way?
Do you have an /etc/cram-md5.pwd file?  Does the password you're using
match?

Actually are you sure you're using 4.7-1?  I took the liberty of accessing
you imap server via telnet and it said:

* OK student.indtech.edu IMAP4rev1 v12.250 server ready

The version number for 4.7-1 should be 12.264
