Is this one trivial to fix e.g. by allowing in the version in potato ?

Leave these: some of these have been here since before 2.0 - Ian may now have
time to fix these _after release_

IMHO, the others aren't sufficient to delay the major release. Let's get
this one out of the door. That will allow Branden to get on with XFree 3.3.3
, fixes for kernel 2.2.1 and FSSTND to be worked on for Potato a.k.a 2.2
I've just had a 1/2 hour conversation with one of my oldest friends who
has been waiting on Slink: apropos the release cycle/freeze cycle - his
candid opinion is that this one has been too long. OTOH, he didn't realise
that Alpha/Sparc [ARM/M68K ??] would also be releasing.
Let's bite the bullet - try for release on 21/22/23 Feb instead of 2 March ??
