I have been reminded of my inaccurate memory.  The broken sparc kernel
was released in Wheezy (and discovered during Jessie).  The roll call
for Jessie happened shortly after Wheezy release but before DSA
discovered the broken kernel.

Nonetheless, the core argument still stands.
