Bug#614897: debian #614897 causes monkeysphere to FTBFS

severity 614897 important
thanks

I'm raising the severity because ssh-add's recent failures to read keys
from a FIFO (http://bugs.debian.org/614897) actually cause monkeysphere
to FTBFS, because the monkeysphere test suite uses "monkeysphere
subkey-to-ssh-agent", which in turn relies on the ability of ssh-add to
read from a FIFO.

fwiw, the original upstream change (to authfile.c CVS version 1.85 to
1.86) that introduced this regression is documented in the ChangeLog
like so:

> - djm@cvs.openbsd.org 2010/11/21 10:57:07
> [authfile.c]
> Refactor internals of private key loading and saving to work on memory
> buffers rather than directly on files. This will make a few things
> easier to do in the future; ok markus@

So i don't think that the regression was an intentional one, or a
deliberate attempt to break reading from FIFOs.
