I have the exact same problem on my laptop - also using ssh 5.5p1. Debug

Then it simply stalls - nothing else happens and Ctrl-C has no effect.
Only solution is to kill the process manually. Try on several different
host - same result. I can connect to the same host using PuTTy on
windows without any problems.
Hope a solution present it self some time soon:-)
