I'm also having this problem.  Also on -L connections.  Also at the 
ServerKeepAliveInterval.  Perhaps it is because we also 
ForwardX11[Trusted].

My .ssh/config:
ControlMaster auto                                                              
ControlPath ~/.ssh/control_%h_%p_%r
HashKnownHosts no
ForwardX11 yes
StrictHostKeyChecking no
ServerAliveInterval 20
Host remotehost
 HostName fully.qualified.remote.host
 User username
 Port >1024

And my ssh command:
ssh -L 3128:localhost:3128 remotehost
