I can > always undo this change later. Ok, my fault. Should have checked firsted before complaining. Apparently binutils since 2.19.91.20090927-1 already contains a patch which disables -pie on mips. I assume this means that a binNMU would be sufficient, given that the buildds have a recent enough binutils version.
