Hi, Recently I'm starting to see this issue as well, on ssh (1:4.7p1-2). Here's my setup: my home PC has a script that connects via ssh to a remote server, bringing it back up whenever it does down. It runs ssh with a few forwarded ports, so that connecting to localhost:1234 on the remote server gets forwarded over the tunnel back to port 22 on the home PC. This way, when I'm not at home, I can connect to the remote server, then run 'ssh -Cp1234 localhost' to get a shell on my home PC. If the connection dies for whatever reason, the script brings it back up. This arrangement has been working quite well for several months now, but recently, I started seeing random disconnects when I connect to my home PC over the forwarded port. This only happens randomly, so at first I attributed it to an unreliable link at home (either due to ISP failure or cable modem reboots, etc.). But eventually, I noticed messages of this sort in the remote server's auth.log: Jan 14 15:38:26 eusebeia sshd[32486]: fatal: buffer_append_space: len 1892239 not supported Jan 14 15:41:56 eusebeia sshd[17967]: Received disconnect from 70.79.82.195: 2: Bad packet length 325212. Jan 14 15:44:26 eusebeia sshd[29914]: fatal: buffer_append_space: len 1897286 not supported Jan 14 15:49:05 eusebeia sshd[3128]: fatal: buffer_append_space: len 1880259 not supported Clearly, given the frequency of this error, something is wrong, but I'm not sure what. If you'd like me to test anything in my setup, please let me know, as I'm seeing this problem every day. T -- Two wrongs don't make a right; but three rights do make a left...
