Hmm. I can't reproduce this here. Could you stop sshd, run 'sshd -ddd'
(you'll then need to restart sshd afterwards), and try to connect using
'ssh -vvv'? Then send me both verbose logs.

I see that too, and (provisionally) I think it's a red herring, but
we'll see.
